One job, from start to finish
Follow one posting below: the card at each step is that same job, at that stage.
Found on the employer’s board
Northwind posts the role on its own careers page, run by an applicant tracking system.
More detail
We follow employers’ boards on systems such as Workday, Greenhouse and Lever, public job services, and boards found in public web archives. Each board is a source we read on a schedule.
Cleaned into one shape
Title, place, remote or on-site, type, pay and date are put into the same fields for every job.
More detail
Every system writes jobs differently. We normalise places to countries, recognise remote and hybrid roles, read salary ranges and their period, and sort each job into a field such as design or engineering.
Duplicates removed
The same role on three boards becomes one job, linked to each place it was posted.
More detail
Employers often post a role on their own page and on several job boards. We recognise the copies by employer, title and place, keep one job, and remember every link.
Indexed for instant search
It joins every other open role in a search engine built to answer in a fraction of a second.
More detail
Search runs on a dedicated engine that is kept in step with the database, so typing a query, adding a filter or paging through results feels instant.
Kept fresh
Each board is read again on a schedule. When Northwind takes the role down, it leaves search.
More detail
New roles appear on the next read, and roles that disappear from their source are closed, so you do not spend time on jobs that are gone.
You apply at the source
We never stand in between: the listing links straight to Northwind’s own page.
More detail
We are not the employer or a recruiter. Every listing links to where it was published, and your application goes straight there.
Questions
Where do the jobs come from?
From employers’ own job boards on applicant tracking systems, public job services, and job boards. The sources page lists every platform and how many jobs each carries.
How fresh are the listings?
Each board is read again on a schedule, most within hours. Roles that disappear from their source are closed and leave search.
Do you write or edit job ads?
No. We put the facts the employer published into the same fields for every job, and link to the original for the full text.
Is a person reviewing each job?
No. Reading, cleaning, de-duplicating and indexing run automatically on every job.
Do I apply through JobIndex?
No. Every listing links to the page where it was posted, and you apply there.
